About Eric Diaz-Padron & Ivan Chavez, Jr.

Mayor Eric Diaz-Padron is a dedicated and experienced public servant with a proven leadership and public service record. Eric is an attorney and attended the University of Miami School of Law, graduating with honors. In the private sector, Eric works as the Head of Southeast US for JOLT Charge, an international electric vehicle charging network. In addition to his role as Mayor, he currently serves on the board of directors for the Miami-Dade League of Cities and the Miami-Dade International Trade Consortium. He previously served on the Board of Trustees of the Miami-Dade Citizen''s Transportation Trust in addition to various other public service roles. Mayor Diaz-Padron has focused his term on infrastructure and environmental solutions, achieving record amounts of appropriations from the state and federal government.

Commissioner Ivan Chavez Jr is a proud third generation civil servant, working as a Fire Lieutenant for the Miami Beach Fire Department. Ivan is also a Rescue Specialist on the Urban Search & Rescue (USAR) South Florida Task Force II.

Commissioner Chavez is a staunch Advocate for Public safety and doing all that is necessary to ensure that the safety and well being of his city’s residents is always at the forefront of its decision making. With a focus on public safety, Ivan understands the importance of cities continuing to adapt and become more resilient to the ever increasing dangers of natural disasters. Ivan has focused on ways to better prepare his city, as well as its residents, to face these aforementioned dangers head on.

In addition to his role as a Commissioner, Ivan serves on the Florida League of Cities Legislative Policy Committee, dealing with Emergency Management and public safety among other topics.
