About Andreas Muehlbauer, Ph.D. and Charles Mahall

Andreas Muehlbauer is AVP, Sr. Lead Research Scientist in the Structures and Natural Hazards research group at FM Global, one of the world’s largest commercial and industrial property insurers. Since 2015, Dr. Muehlbauer has been leading and contributing to research aimed at improving the company’s worldwide natural hazard mapping capabilities. Andreas supports Operations, Underwriting, and clients with modeling and data analytics that quantity exposures to natural hazards and climate risks. Research includes development of a global freezing map, next-generation wind and hail hazard maps, and white papers on tornados, extreme precipitation, and flooding.

Charles Mahall is a Senior Engineer at FM Approvals, an international leader in third-party testing and certification of property loss prevention solutions designed to improve resilience of end user facilities. Mr. Mahall joined FM Approvals in 1999 and has contributed to product certifications, standards development, employee training and business development activities spanning fire protection and flood mitigation.
