Meet the Speaker: Robert Molleda - National Weather Service
We are excited to announce that Robert Molleda, the Warning Coordination Meteorologist at the National Weather Service’s Weather Forecast Office in Miami, will be speaking at the Flood Expo next year! The National Weather Service is an agency of the United States government tasked with providing critical information such as hazardous weather warnings and weather forecasts to the general public.
Molleda has worked extensively for the National Weather Service since 1991 and primarily has spent his career based in South Florida. From Hurricane Andrew in 1992 to Hurricane Irma in 2017 along with every tropical cyclone in between, Molleda has encountered with a well-rounded skill set. Prior to his current position, he spent nearly a decade working as a Hurricane Support Meteorologist and marine forecaster at the National Hurricane Center. His knowledge and experience within the natural disaster industry has led Molleda throughout his career.
Currently Molleda oversees the warning program in Southern Florida which requires engagement between key partners like media representatives and emergency management officials.
